I recently purchases a "defective" PowMr Hybrid inverter off ebay for pretty cheap. I figured I could at least take a look at it and maybe get it working.

So that's the backstory of the unit. The seller doesn't know anything about the unit, so they say. So no point asking them for more details.

Here's the rundown of the tests I've done and what I've figured out so far.

I connected my bench psu to the battery port and set it to 56V so that the charger won't try to charge when the AC is turned on.
Connected the AC-IN properly and flipped the Breaker switch on the side. No results

Turned on the BenchPSU and the system doesn't do anything.

Flip the power switch that's on the bottom of the unit, and the system comes to life. Starts the boot process, checks battery voltage and starts the AC checks. Then, it goes black. I notice that my BenchPSU shows a huge spike in current draw.

I figured out that if I flipped the switch on the bottom of the unit, wait for it to start up, then turn off the inverter, the system finished booting up and stabilizes. I can go through all the menu settings, even the AC shows it's stable.

But as soon as I flip the inverter switch on, the unit overloads and reboots. The FAULT light illuminates for a split second.

I have the case cover off, inspected what I could, don't smell any burning odors and didn't notice any burn marks anywhere. I haven't fully taken the unit apart to check out the bottom side of the PCB or check all the FETs yet. Figured I'd ask here what the consensus could be what's going on before I take that step.

I do plan on contact PowMr directly after a few more diagnostics and see what they say/recommend.

Unit is a POW-LVM5K-48V-H
