Portable Mini 12V/300W "Powerwall" Project

I looked and looked and looked for reference material on current ratings of AWG rating, finding little bits here and there but not to the detail that the wiki chart has. Thank you so much so that. Indeed the 20AWG is way too thick to perform the job of a fuse for the limits of an 18650 battery.

I found some 34 AWG tinned copper wire on Amazon, marketed for craft use lol, which should break between 5 and 6 amps of current. Before I put the battery pack into an enclosure, I will swap out the fure wire for safety. Also I will use the iSDT's resistance reading feature to see if and how much it changes between the 20 AWG and the 34 AWG fuse wire.

Still working on the Watt Meter's enclosure and wiring, hope to have a video out on that in a day or two.

If you use crafting wire, definitely check it before putting it into service. Crafting wire may not be the highest quality as electrical quality. It's kinda like the clarity of a diamond. The ones that are dirty are probably being ground down and used on tools blades and such. Even though they are both diamonds, you wouldn't hand your lady a diamond tipped saw blade and expect her to get all "OOooooo" on ya :p

Hahah, exactly! I have that one on my Watch List :) Plus some of the other tinned copper for making busbars.

Here is Episode 9 of this project which shows taking a watt meter kit and getting it wired up inside of a 3D printed enclosure so that I can track how many watt hours are consumed from the480wh battery pack:
