What program do you use to create and edit the videos to be posted on Youtube?

I currently make the video with my phone using the "Open Camera" app to record. Then in windows I use VSDC Free Video Editor.

I don't really care for the VSDC program all that much, but it is free. A little hard to work the controls. I'm looking for an easier editor to manage the files and convert them to a sizable file for upload.

Speaking of file size, what are the settings you use on your smartphone app/digital camera?

I started with windows media then I switched to sony vegas. Not sure on phone settings.

Ugh, only a 30-dayfree trial :( And not paying $40 for it, either. (nor tor)

None of you guys using Linux / Openshot / Audacity?

Adobe premiere. Started with youtube editor then windows movie maker... Yes i could go for something else but i use lightroom and other daily for foto stuff.

I use adobe premier pro for all my videos. Have worked how to do screen capture for it though. Presume that I might have to use something else and just add the video to premier.

Well, Audacity is just for audio, tho. I need something for video ;)

Plus, I don't want to spend a bunch of $$ for the software. I'm not going to be doing a lot with it, so I don't see spending $30 or more for it is worth it, imho.

Free is the best option, obviously, but not always practical. The program I use currently is "ok", but not the greatest. At least, I havn't figured out how to actually "edit" the videos. Right now I'm just using it to resample the phones recorded video. I don't know what is causing the bloat in file size on the phone, but several of my recordings is over 500meg. Not practical especially for uploading over wifi. Secondly, I see movies that are 2hrs long and 1080P having file sizes in the 1Gig range. Far longer and better quality than my phone recorded videos.

Hrmmm, guess I might d/l the trial version and give it a test ride to get a feel for it. I really hate spending $$ :p
