Hi,

I'm Stefaan, and been lurking around for some weeks.

I've started to collect cells, from usedlaptopbatteries and e-bikes.

In the past I've converted a APC 1500W UPS into a 3000W model, connected to old forkilftbatteries, But just keeping those old blocks of lead charged (and topped off) was alot of work, without return.

I've got a grid tied solar PV system, and have been thinking alot about the possibility to store my exces energyfor later use.

now we are feeding back (meter turning backward = ok) but we are not paid for the electricity. For consumers there is no feed-in compensation.

I'm still collecting, a few hunderd cells maybe already, but still need to do a capacity check on every cel, it's a slow proces with only one decharger.

in the mean time, I keep on following the builds of the other members, picking up ideas for busbar, fuse, BMS,....

one day, I hope to have my own powerwal, one day

best regards

Stefaan

Welcome!

Another belgian into the powerwall world ! Welcome ;)

Hey Stefaan, indeed, another Belgian!
Where are you located?
Looks like you already have some electronics experience, that will come in handy!

Good luck on working out where you want to go with your project, there are plenty of choices ahead :)
(I still have to make all of them myself, still researching...)

I'm living in Tildonk, close to Werchter, where they have that annual little festival.

Some experience in electronics, yes, but little, I know how to measure, solder,... not the designing circuits.

I enjoy repairing 'dead' laptops and thing, I think the world is wasting to much, alot is not yet end of life, but end of expectations.

An old laptop usualy is slow because the user never did maintenance, and can be restored to factory condition.

where are you from?

Best regards

Stefaan

I'm from Antwerp, even though I spent last weekend in Werchter for no particular reason.
Not really an electronics whizzkid myself but I've been tinkering with computers and electricity for quite a while now.
The way these powerwalls combine (dismantling) computers, electronics and electricity fit me quite well :)

Welcome!

Slow but required, soon i will prove this :)
