I just wanted this video, and it's rediculous the idiocy of what the laws are out there.
In the first half of the video a guy is put in jail for having installed a VAWT wind turbine. It's not huge. In fact, it's about 6' in diameter (maybe less) and is mounted just a few feet above his roof line like a TV antenna would be. But because he didn't take it down in time, he was put in jail. And they won't release him until his wife removes the foundation the turbine was resting on; even though several engineers have spoke up and said this would cause structural damage to their home.
In the second part, a man is being threatened to be put in jail for having collected rain water on his property. He has several large ponds that has been collecting water for decades. In fact, the fire department has even used his ponds with the helicopters to help put out fires in the area several times. The 1925 law states that the gov't has the rights to 'tributaries', which his ponds are not filled with. However, the jury was denied this information, the proper definition of tributaries by the law, as well as others, when hearing his case. He now is facing possible jail/prison time if he doesn't get his ponds drained in the allotted time frame. And on top of that, if a fire starts on his property and spreads to another property, he can fined up to $100,000; which the ponds have helped save several fires from spreading.

LOL wtf!

Yeah, unfortunately it is real. In the video it shows News broadcasts from two different carriers. One of them was Fox News. I don't recall the other one. So yeah, definitely real, and definitely stupid on the gov't part.

This is absolute bullshit. If this happened in Canada, I'd lose myself, and would probably go that court.

From what I've seen, it's mostly in the city limits that's causing all the ruckus. Well, the windmill, anyways. The water from the second half isn't. I dunno, it's all stupid stuff. It wouldn't surprise me if the the water case turns out that someone wants to get ahold of his property. We had someone who wanted our property and for awhile we were getting harassed with all kinds of stupid stuff. The county inspector actually walked our 35+acres to find any vehicles that may be in "non-drivable" condition without a current tag and told us we had to get rid of everything. Not to mention all the other stuff like piles of brush and such. So far we haven't been bothered for a lil over a decade now. Maybe they gave up and moved on.

Unfortunately, Oregon has become very militant with regard to enforcing water rights that the state sees as belonging to Oregon. At the risk of getting political, too many years of one party being in control of the both chambers of the legislature and the governors office.

Impossible. This looks like bad stuff. Who could think doing this is actually good for the people?

Next time, we'll probably see people claim solar panels are stealing sun energy...
It was done before yes.

BTW, bonjour mon cher ami.
