Looking for an inverter....

Im planning/ building a small PV/powerwall system that I intend to run my pool pumps & equipment from. My goal is to power the pool completely from solar (as much as possible) and draw from the grid only when the batteries are too low. I do NOT want to sell power to the grid.

Looking for recommendations on inverters that can do this; Draw DC from the PV/Batteries most of the time, and draw from grid only when DC voltage is below a specified cutoff.

So far, Ive only confirmed that the Outback Radian inverters will do exactly what I want (in Mini-Grid Mode), But may be overkill for my application, and Im looking for a cheaper alternative.

Any recommendations?

Design Criteria:
Approx daily consumption: 7-9 kWh
Max. Load approx 2.5 kW
Powerwall: 14s,40p
PV Solar: TBD. Approx 2 kW
Location: San Francisco Bay Area

PIP4048 is a classical example that will do what you want.

Im using the that inverter. You can find that in my links down below. They sell them rather frequently on ebay as well

MPP Solar inverters appear to be either straight 120 volt or240 volt. (No split phase)
I need 120/240 (typical USA household feed) to run pumps & pool controls.

Any other ideas ?

To do that you are going to either need to of their units and connect them together so you can get 240V, of get/build a transformer with split phase.
