Great way to connect our packs

I really like the anderson plug idea

Ditto cool Idea. And heck you got it Friggin Use it

I was thinking of the same thing when building my packs. I was going to go with the smaller ones that can do 30A. They are a little smaller and easier to snap in/out of connections. Easy to swap out a pack if something goes huey.

Then I saw the XT connections, and started thinking of going that route :p So now I'm undecided at this point. I think I'm goin to get a part of XT and give them a shot to see how well they'd handle.

xt are way smaller, but anderson can be mounted to a surface, it depends on your setup

They may be smaller, but they are still rated at higher amps. XT60 (60 A) and XT90 (90 A). So they are capable. Andersons are great for where the connection is going to be connected/disconnected often or where there is a chance for a lot of vibrations.

I haven't played with XT's yet, but I imagine they are a bit easier to connect/disconnect than Andersons are. The design I'm planning on would better with the XT's because of size and easy of connections.

But I agree with Pete (for posting) and jdeadman: you got em, might as well use em ;) Save that money where you can since it allows you to use that money in upgrades somewhere else.

i have some xt60, and maybe 90, dont know, too much stuff piling up^^
i assume the rating goes for 1 wire, not for both, so it would make the connector practically a 120a or 100a - i guess enough for our needs right?^^

while i sort of hate the anderson in upss because too short cables, no space to work with and the possability to DUCK up the servers behind it, i would prefer the screwed down anderson versus the loose and tiny xt60.

i use 1 pair of xt60 to power some tp4056 of a server psu and it sucks. it is solid and all but i have always worries to kill a cable and you only can solder to them, the amount of connector to grip is also tiny for the power you need to disconect them

Hrmm.... things to consider. I was thinking of a way to fasten the connectors down. Either on the outside of the pack, or integrated into the pack shape to hold it. Haven't decided on what I'm going with.

The reason for me going with the XT's is that they are small; taking up a lot less space. But I'm also working on a design that is more hot swapable. So the anderson would make that difficult; I think. I'll need to get some XT's to compare them all.

XT90 is a nice connector and would work for many of us or you go XT150 instead .
