Hey folks. I'm designing a pack that is destined to power a 6 wheeled robot. Endurance is important, so I'm taking the powerwall approach to build the biggest rechargeable pack i can, as cheaply as i can. The pack will be removable, and several packs could fit in one robot, or other equipment in the future.

For battery protection, I'm planning to use two TI BQ77905 ICs(Datasheet) to protect the 7s battery, and monitor the electrical characteristics of the output of the battery to tell when i might have a bad cell. These 7s batteries will then be placed in parallel to ramp up the Ah, maybe up to 20 7s 18650 batteries.

Has anyone any experience of working at the IC level, or know of any other build that went down a similar avenue. I'm a student of engineering, so I'm learning about battery tech as fast as i can. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I'm hoping he will remain our friend :)

The specific function of the robot cannot be stated at the time. I'm just here for the power pack technology for now.
